A torque sensor is commonly referred to as a torque transducer, torque meter, or torquemeter. In specific configurations, they may also be called reaction torque sensors (for static applications) or rotary torque sensors (for rotating shaft measurements). The terms are often used interchangeably in engineering and metrology contexts.

A rotary torque sensor measures torque on a continuously rotating shaft — ideal for engines, motors, and drivetrains. Yes. SensorData Technologies provides free in-house calibration with their own electronics on select models. Calibration using customer-supplied electronics is also available for a fee. Certain models include on-board shunt calibration circuits and TEDS chips (IEEE 1451.4 compliant), enabling automated sensor identification and calibration data recall in compatible instrumentation systems.
